Supervision helps to see one's own behavior as a manager from a bird's eye view. The term "supervision" is derived from "super - above - outside" and "vision - videre - see" and means the view of one's own behavior and the associated implications from outside or above.
Man as a being of co-relationality
People have the specifically human ability to distance themselves from themselves in order to see themselves (the inner world) and the world (the outer world) from a distance (eccentricity). This is important in order to be able to live a reflective way of being.
As a community we are cognitively as well as emotionally dependent on multiple perspectives. Only in a culture of pluridisciplinary hermeneutics can our cognition and understanding, which defines the program for our actions, be expanded to include new facets. Integrative psychotherapy offers the most complete approach.
In short: without good supervision, the quality of our work and our life is slowly but surely going down the drain.
